Galpin Auto Sports (GAS), the California tuner and top Ford dealer, will build a limited run supercar based on the Ford GT built between 2005-2006.

The Ford GT inspired supercar, dubbed the GTR-1, will feature more than 1,000 horsepower.

GAS’ GTR-1 will use underpinnings of a Ford Mustang GT. The GTR-1 will resemble the Ford GT with a modern interpretation of the Ford GT body, built from your choice of aluminum or carbon fiber. The suspension and drivetrain will be upgraded to handle the additional power.

The interior will be designed to fit customer specifications.

The GTR-1 supercar is scheduled to be released next year.

McLaren Releases Images of Its New P1 Supercar

McLaren Automotive released three new images of its P1 Supercar ahead of the P1’s Paris Motor Show debut. The design study will go into production for next year and is scheduled to go on sale in 12 months.

MacLaren has positioned the supercar, inspired by the company’s racing division, with the goal, “to be the best driver’s car in the world on road and track” and states the the P1 will sit above, in both price and performance, the 12C and 12C Spider.

Earlier today they released this statement: ‘P1 will be the result of 50 years of racing and road car heritage,’ says McLaren Automotive Executive Chairman Ron Dennis. ‘Twenty years ago we raised the supercar performance bar with the McLaren F1 and our goal with P1 is to redefine it once again.’

‘Our aim is not necessarily to be the fastest in absolute top speed but to be the quickest and most rewarding series production road car on a circuit’, says McLaren Automotive Managing Director Antony Sheriff. ‘It is the true test of a supercar’s all round ability and a much more important technical statement. It will be the most exciting, most capable, most technologically advanced and most dynamically accomplished supercar ever made.’

The company plans to release more details at a Sept. 27th press conference. Two days later, the McLaren P1 will make its debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

Arrinera has announced that they will call their new supercar the Hussarya; not to be confused with the Pagani Huayra. The Polish startup named it’s newest super after Poland’s Hussar cavalry of the 16th century, known for their beauty, strength and maneuverability; traits Arrinera hopes the Hussarya will have.

More than a year ago the Hussarya was revealed as a computer-generated rendering, then took form a full fledged prototype. The final design for the dynamically-styled mid-engine coupe with very familiar Ferrari and Lamborghini styling, was honed over a period of 14 months in the aeronautical engineering labs of the Warsaw University of Technology.

Arrinera has taken a strong focus on the aerodynamics of the Hussarya, directly resulting in adjustable twin rear spoilers which raise or lower themselves depending on speed, and shoot to an upright position acting as an air brake when the car is brought to a halt.

Check out the other basic and unique specs that have been released so far.

Specs
Dash area and controls are to be driver-focused
Door design and ground clearance adjusted to make ingress and egress easier
Supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 rated at 650 horsepower
604 pound-feet of torque
drive going to the rear wheels via a Graziano sequential gearbox
LS9 unit engine found in the Corvette ZR1 supercar with the option of more power
Tubular steel chassis and suspension setup design by British engineer Lee Noble – the founder of Noble Automotive and one of the key men behind the record-breaking Ultima GTR
0-60 mph time of 3.2 seconds
Quarter-mile time of 11 seconds flat
Top speed of around 211 mph
Up to 1.3 g on the skidpad
Curb weight should come in at less than 2,900 pounds
Carbon fiber and Kevlar construction for the body

The Hussarya will be entering the road and performance testing phase where engineers will be taking prototypes to a research center in Spain. As long as everything goes smoothly, Arrinera will start sales of the Hussarya by the end of 2013. Although no price is set in stone yet, Arrinera suggested a price of $160,000 for the Hussarya.

A limited launch edition model, the 33 Series, will be released beforehand with only 33 units being built. The 33 Series supercars will be distinguished by special equipment and some finer carbon fiber detailing.
