Who better to make tough-as-nails gear than Under Armour, already a trusted name in stylish and durable essentials?
And create it did, with the help of bowhunting expert Cam Hanes. The result is a pair of smartly designed kicks as robust and unwavering as the sport its for.
Hunting is, of course, not for the faint of heart. It requires you be present at all times, with heightened senses and a keen grasp of your space. That’s not going to happen if your shoes suck. You’ll only end up distracted and uncomfortable. That’s exactly what the CH1 GTX Hunting Boots address, helping even neophytes get into the right headspace for their backcountry digs.
Under Armour and hanes spent three years working on the CH1 GTX. They needed that amount of time to stitch everything together and make sure every inclusion has a purpose. You’ll find Gore-Tex membrane on the footwear’s construction, plus a vapor-permeable mesh and Cordura polyamide for optimum performance while you’re and about scouring for beasts.
An integrated two-zone BOA lacing system comes standard, as well as anatomical insoles with double-density EVA foam for maximum comfort while trudging the great outdoors. Needless to say that these boots are made not just for walking, but for all kinds of heavy-duty action. Hanes himself had worn it while taking down one of his largest backcountry bulls to date. That’s basically the ultimate stamp of approval right there.

Italian car manufacturer Pagani and driving shoe specialist Piloti have joined forces to create the perfect pair of footwear for even the most discerning car enthusiast.
The companies took inspiration from the soft elegance of the Pagani Huayra Roadster. The result is the chic-looking shoe you see above, called the Roadster Driving Boot. Having spent two years in development, each pair is handmade in Italy and features top-grain leather construction.
On top of that, it’s got pliable CX6 carbon fiber panels for maximum durability. These panels are great because they cut down on heft and weight, making for a relatively lightweight and comfortable pair. It’s an element borrowed directly from Pagani’s line of hypercars, most of which heavily use carbon fiber as well.
Beyond its brutalist and utilitarian but still lithe and sleek aesthetics, the shoe also features something called Roll Control 2.0. This heel extends the shoes’ cushioning to the heel, which helps maximize comfort when driving. There’s also CNC + laser etched anodized aluminum hardware baked in. Name another pair of shoes that has that? Blanking? We thought so.
If none of the above has convinced you to get one, this might: Only 250 pairs will be sold worldwide. That’s not a typo — the Roadster Driving Boot is literally one of the rarest shoe finds you’ll ever purchase. Granted, you might stick to your Nike or Adidas kicks once you hear the price tag — just $849, folks — but purely for rarity alone, these are a steal.

Bonus: those curves slightly light up in the dark, making this already excellent pair just a tad bit cooler than other Air Max models in your rotation. They’re a bit pricey at $170, although that’s typical of Air Max models. You shouldn’t miss this, though, that’s for sure.

The fold-up soles easily attach to any kind of footwear using a simple system of adjustable shock cord fasteners, transforming whatever shoe you’re wearing into a snow, ice, and slush-crushing all-terrain vehicle.
With Nike’s unveiling of the Air Max 720 out of the way, now comes the Jordan Proto-Max 720. The Jordan Brand kicks uses the same refreshed Air tech, and falls within the Flight Utility range.
The Proto-Max 720 is the latest iteration of Nike’s airbag technology, cradling a larger portion of the foot than ever before. The shoes come in a futuristic silhouette that cleverly takes advantage of the advanced Air Max cushioning unit. This is paired with a lightweight and flexible textile upper, plus adjustable heel straps for a custom fit. On top of that, Nike put Flight Utility graphics on the tongue and heel tabs for extra flair. After all, it’s not Jordan Brand without that extra oomph of flair. As such, don’t be surprised by the rugged moon-boot outsole that evinces Jordan’s space flight aesthetic. There’s signature Jumpman branding on the heel in bold lettering, while the Wings logo appears on the tab strap in the end via a striped silhouette.
Of note is the Max Air 720 sole unit, done up this time in a black-and-red color scheme that’s very reminiscent of Air Jordan’s Flu Game years and years past. It’s not exactly nostalgic, though — “classic” would be a better word to describe these kicks, but given a modern touch.

They also feature adjustable heel straps for custom fit and Flight Utility graphic details on the tongue and heel tabs. The overall design is very understated, but still not too minimalist. The metallic silver edition is a particular highlight here, with a spread out ombre effect from the heel bleeding to the sides. It’s quite a sight.
The only difference between the Proto-React and the Apex-Utility is that the former does not come with a translucent upper, but instead appears to have more of a nylon or ripstop material. But they’re both lifestyle sneakers at the end of the day, so it’s up to you if that slight disparity bears any significance. Either way, you’ll look cool wearing one of them.

Sneakerheads out there are mightily aware of ON’s Cloudace running shoes. They’re steadily making waves across the sneaker fandom for its CloudTec sole.
What is this, exactly? Well, the tech involves “zero-gravity heel clouds” and deliver “ultimate cushioning sensation without slowing you down.”

The New Balance 997 is making a much-deserved comeback. The shoemaker originally released these kicks in 1991, serving as the fourth model in the 990 series. It also ushered the shock-absorbing technology called ENCAP and C-CAP.

Numbers, a skateboarding brand based in Los Angeles, has teamed up with Adidas Skateboarding to create an exclusive and exciting line of sneakers. One of the highlights of this collection is undeniably the Adidas Skateboarding x Numbers custom City Cup shoe.
What do we love about this shoe? It has a very vintage laidback look and feel to it, with a subtle gray upper made from nubuck leather and double cup for a midsole. The shoe is finished out with an outsole made of rubber.
Internally, the heel is lined with EVA for high quality and comfortable cushioning, while breathability has been factored into the design with the knit collar and mesh lining. Taking the vintage further, there is a reflective trim on both the heel and tongue.

J.Crew’s fruitful partnership with New Balance continues with another low-profile take on classic — this time, the 791 low-top. The new J.Crew version comes in nubuck suede with a rubber outsole and in three colorways, noting “sometimes the best way to make a statement is to keep things simple.”
Asics take on chunky sneakers is to simply re-release a mid-90s comfy shoe stalwart in yellow and black. Part of the brand’s “Welcome to the Dojo” pack — which, confusingly, has something to do with a Youtube anime series — is a limited run collaboration between Asics and Foot Locker featuring a variety of athleisure wear. The Tiger GEL-Diablo is a 2018 take on the shoe that releasedin 1995, and it is still considered among the comfiest ever.
New Balance’s X-90 sneaker is not a cool sneaker. There weren’t lines or “drops” associated with its release this month. It’s an updated, contemporary take on an older New Balance shoe, and it comes in a mountain of easy-to-wear colorways. The brand does describe it as “chunky,” but, compared to its contemporaries, it hardly fits that label.
Started by two brothers with previous experience at Adidas and Hypebeast, Lane-Eight is not a brand you should know (yet). The AD-1 is its first sneaker, and where many performance sneakers are shoehorned into a specific type of performance (running, lifting, sport, etc.), the AD-1s aim for general use. Stride-for-stride, ETPU pellets bring solid energy return. The shoe’s sock-like fit is cozy and breathable while the hard TPU sidewalls provide nice stability for quick turns and awkward landings. At launch, the AD-1 is available in chalk white, dusty tan and pink heather.
Independent footwear brand Oliver Cabell prides itself on its blending of the handmade with high technology, and its new Erving sneaker fits that bill to a tee. It uses a Margom outsole, which is one of the most coveted in the casual sneaker world (Common Project’s Achilles sneakers use it), a split suede upper, a removable full-grain leather insole and is hand-stitched in Spain. It also comes in half sizes, which is fairly unique in the luxury lifestyle sneaker world.
When Adidas decides its done releasing updates and new versions (not any time soon), the Ultraboost will go down as one of the best sneakers ever. This update in the grand scheme of things will probably not be remembered, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a smart, problem-solving shoe. The DNA LTD Ultraboost uses the Ultraboost 4 frame, but replaces its usual knit with a reflective yarn weave, which makes it a great shoe for night runners.
Riffing on its classic 1000 Mile Boot, Wolverine opened up shop in the sneaker world with its mid-top 1000 Mile Original Sneaker. The shoe sports a Horween Essex leather upper (soft enough to avoid blisters on first wear), a super-lightweight Vibram outsole and a leather-topped PU sock insert. The 1000 Mile Original Sneaker is available in navy, black, brown and tan.
The Avalanche is made by hand in Italy with calf leather, suede and patent leather, with a mesh upper and nylon stitching (the mix of materials meant as an homage to Italian craftsmanship).
