NXT Rage

We’ve featured many a car here at Men’s Gear, which is why despite the new entries we try to cover as much as possible, it’s starting to feel a bit dull and stale. But trust us, you’ll want to stick around for the NXT Rage. It’s a beastly electric motorcycle dripping with attitude. And even if you aren’t necessarily a fan of electric types, there’s plenty of delights here to gawk at.

Let’s start with the design. The all-black profile supremely complements its supple profile, making it as badass as a Marvel villain but seemingly as graceful as a ballerina. This dichotomy is immediate at first glance — just look at the slim slines snaking around its slender body.

Fresh off the Netherlands, this ride is a formidably nimble package, complete with a roadster aesthetic and a blacked-out coat job. If you aren’t a fan of matte, this isn’t for you. However, if gloss has become too treacly for your taste, this is a refreshing inverse. It boasts a carbon fiber monocoque frame. There’s also a 7-inch display that serves as the interface for the rider. Not too many bikes have that, so that’s a nice plus.

Unfortunately, all we can really do at this moment is gaze at this beauty. The folks who made this exceptional ride hasn’t released a full specs sheet yet. But we’re inclined to believe it’s got innards to match its sleek outer shell. Make sure to check back with Men’s Gear as we learn more about this bad boy.

Pure Cycles CAPACITA Electric Bike

It’s not often that you come across an electric bike that blends cutting-edge technology with classic aesthetics. However, it looks like the Pure Cycles CAPACITA might be an exception for now. Unlike conventional purely pedal-powered options, electric motor-assisted models are fast becoming the urban transport of choice for a lot of city-dwelling folks. It’s obvious that nobody wants to sweat it out pedaling up steep inclines on their way to work or wherever their destination might be.

Despite its humble appearance, we were told that the CAPACITA is built for performance. While most electric bikes are for taking passengers to where they’re going, this one also considers cargo. At any given time, you might be carrying extra stuff that you can’t just throw into a backpack or bag. Therefore, this eco-friendly ride offers ample space up front and on the rear. This makes it a reliable workhorse for some of you who want to use it for more than just your daily commute.

The built-in electric motor is a 350W 42V rear hub Bafang model. Powering this capable unit is a 42V 10 Ah 40-cell Samsung rechargeable battery. We were wrong to think that this vintage-looking bike might be featherweight warrior. The Pure Cycles CAPACITA boasts a payload capacity of 350 lbs, which is hardly what you would call a pushover. A full charge nets you an estimated range of 40 miles, but it can change depending on the various riding modes. Lastly, you can cruise around in style with a top speed of 20 mph.

Swytch Electric Bike Conversion Kit

London’s Swytch Team wants to unleash the full potential of any regular bicycle with the Swytch Kit, an EBike system that converts your regular ride into an electric bike without sacrificing its original look and feel.

The kit is lightweight and versatile and comes in a form of a motor wheel and a power pack that is compatible with any type of bike, from road bikes to beach cruisers, big or small, old or new. The hub motor wheel, which replaces your regular front wheel, only adds 1.5kg of additional weight while the 2.2 kg handlebar-mounted power pack is removable, so you can instantly go from a regular pedal bicycle to electric bike.

The waterproof power pack features taped seams and a rubber socket for USB output and battery charging. It features a backlit LCD display where you can see the seven power levels, speedometer, speed/wheel configuration, and battery level.

The Swytch Kit can take you 25 miles or 50 miles on a 250W power for standard front forks (100mm). However, if you’re the type who craves for speed, then you can go for the high-power rear hub motor kit. Its power pack is capable of providing output power twice the standard wattage (500W), which means more speed covered. It can take you at a maximum speed of 30 miles per hour.

Factory Five AK-1 Electric Bike

For urbanites like us, the daily commute can be done in various ways. We have a bunch of options available such as public transportation or personal vehicles, but unless you have free parking space, it might be better to go with the former option. The evolution of personal transport opened up even more avenues for us to travel around the city. Folding bikes are a neat concept and coupled with an electric motor result in an eco-friendly solution to get around.

E-bike design is pretty much straightforward as it continues to employ the same conventional form factor that’s been around for a while now—after all, why fix something that’s not broken right? Therefore, innovative approaches like the AK-1 deliver something out-of-the-ordinary. Yes, it’s a folding electric bike, yet the folding part is automated.

With a touch of a button, this two-wheeled transport automatically folds down or opens up. It shaves off a few seconds of effort on your part and looks absolutely cool in the process. Designed by Ronsben Huen and manufactured by Factory Five, it features a USB port for charging gadgets, a status display, and even comes with built-in wireless Bluetooth speakers. A single charge can take you 22 miles at speeds of 20 mph.

Hummingbird Electric: World’s Lightest E-Bike

Hummingbird really pushed the boundaries of what compact, folding bikes could be when they released what was the lightest model in the world. The model weighed just 6.9 Kg. They are set to do the same thing again in the world of folding e-bikes with the Hummingbird Electric.

Working in partnership with Prodrive, their entry into the folding e-bike market weighs just 10.3 Kg, making it the lightest-in-class at the moment.

Don’t let the compact and lightweight nature of this bike fool you though, because it has a 250 watt motor with a higher power to weight ratio than any other bike on the market. It is capable of achieving a comfortable 25 kph on its 160 lithium-ion battery which enables you to ride for a maximum of 30 km.

Another huge selling point of this e-bike is the fact that charging the battery only takes 2.5 hours. This negates the need for an additional battery to be carried around by a rider.

With the motor, battery and everything else that powers the bike hidden in the hub of the rear wheel, it has a slick and slim-line look.

They are currently taking orders at the moment, so if you have a cool 4 and a half grand to spend, and want a more eco-friendly way to get to and from work, check the Hummingbird Electric out!
