Rimac Concept Two Reveal

Concept Two Interior

Another reveal in Geneva Motor Show is the updated iteration of Rimac’s ‘Tesla-Slayer’, called the Concept Two. Still powered by four electric motors per wheel, it will make 1,888 horsepower and 1,696 lb/ft of torque. It almost has a 1:1 ratio of torque to horsepower, which is a tall feat to achieve. Just ask the Koenigsegg team with their 1:one concept.

With a full-electric setup, the Concept Two can provide 404 miles of driving range, through their 120-kWh battery pack. This sports coupe can reach 0-60mph in 1.85 seconds. That’s right; less than 2(!) seconds. That’s absurd and very promising for what the future holds for automobiles!

The neat part is that there are multiple gearboxes controlling the four electric motors to keep all four wheels producing power at the helm. That’s next-level technology, for you. On top of that, it has an active rear wing, which is also the air brake. Gullwing Door of the Rimac Concept Two

Gullwing Door of the Rimac Concept TwoThis is a new car, with no parts shared from the Concept One and they’re out to be the best electric car company around.

The Rimac still looks dashing, both inside and out and has active aerodynamics to keep most of us planted. Rimac is slated to produce limited examples of the Concept Two, so if something caught your eye, better put your deposit down: it’s expected to cost over $1 million.

The Eight Tailpipe, “Faster Than Anything On The Market” Bugatti 16C Galibier

Wolfgang Dürheimer, the CEO of both Bentley and Bugatti, will soon move to Audi, but before he goes, he’s finishing up a few big jobs, one of them being the development of the 16C Galibier.

The concept was first revealed back in 2009 and ever since, rumors and leaks have had everyone wondering if the four-seat fastback will ever come to be. Then in 2011, the greenlight was given and the Galibier was set for production this year, eventually moved to next year.

Initially, the model was set to be less than 1,000 horsepower and have optional hybrid power but thankfully, that wasn’t outrageous enough for Bugatti. The Galibier was sent back to the drawing board and reemerged with enough horsepower to surpass four digits.

Production is now planned for sometime around 2015. Dürheimer’s recent chat with Car and Driver revealed, the Galibier will be original and blindingly fast, and “over 1,000 hp” which Car and Driver believes will be upward of 1,400 non-hybridized horse power, said to get beyond 235 mph and be “faster than anything on the market” – that includes the aftermarket sector.

Despite the Galibier still being redesigned, a few things remain, Dürheimer mentioned that the car will have technologies that are automotive firsts and I don’t know about you, but I want a car that has eight tailpipes!

McLaren’s debuting a new concept car – a tribute to one of the greatest racing endeavors, the Can-Am – at Pebble Beach.

The concept is offset by carbon fiber and sating bllack touches and bright McLaren orange – a nod of respect to Bruce McLaren and Denny Hulme’s success in racing in the ’60s and ’70s

McLaren upped the power from 3.8-liter V8 to 630 horsepower, making it the most powerful 12C derivative offered yet.

It looks similar to the GT3 version and includes race seats, a roll cage, a GT3 steering wheel, racing alloys, upgraded brakes, making it the “ultimate track car.”

Jaguar E-Type Concept by Laszlo Varga

We always wondered if and when there would be a proper successor to the Jaguar range after the E-type was so fatefully removed.

Que Laszlo Varga, the industrial design grad from the Technological University of Budapest.

Varga brought the E-Type concept design to vivid life with his photo-realistic renderings. The E-Type’s long bonnet, swooping curves and oval grille have been updated to reflect contemporary Jaguar design aesthetics.

Varga states that his goal for the E-Type concept is “to bring this icon back to the modern world, and with it, the feeling and the atmosphere in a style that fits the modern car design expectations and the heritage of the Jaguar brand.”

“A modern E-type has to be reborn with the harmonious combination of the modern strong edges and the smooth feminine lines.” – he also adds.

The sleek design of his E-Type concept renderings has us wanting to see more. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out in the industry for the name Laszlo Varga in coming years.

To see more sick designs and renderings by Varga, I highly suggest you visit his blog.
