The Istoria Hotel, the newest retreat in Santorini, Greece, is a sublime paradise that exudes a next-generation charm. Ancient architecture meets contemporary aesthetic in this 12-suite resort that overlooks the enticing blue waters of the Aegean Sea.
Athens-based firm Interior Design Laboratorium designed the resort according to the island’s narrative, hence the name Istoria, which means “story” in Ancient Greek. Mosaic tiles and wood furnishings adorn volcanic stones and plastered walls reminiscent of the old Greece to give the hotel its authentic contemporary feel. The surrounding trees give the retreat a calm and relaxing ambiance.
The hotel provides air-conditioned rooms and king-sized beds in each suite. All other necessities, including bath amenities, bathrobe and slippers, and a safe box, are also provided. Modern indulgences, such as a mini bar, Wi-Fi, and a Smart TV are also available in each accommodation.
Guests at the Istoria Hotel must be 14 years old and over and they can opt to choose a room with a view of the sea or a courtyard view, although each suite has a terrace. Therapeutic spa treatments using only the finest natural oils are likewise offered at the retreat.
