A solid Swiss automatic watch for under, say, $500 isn’t a bad find, but with great specs, myriad dial colors and two case sizes, the Glycine Combat 6 Classic Automatic watch is about as good as it gets for under $300 and an absolute steal considering the original MSRP of $1,250.
Available in both 36mm and 43mm case sizes, a total of nine variants offer choices of dial color and straps or bracelets. One model also offers a white dial with Arabic numerals, but specs are similar for each of the available references, which feature 50m of water resistance, stainless steel cases, sapphire crystals over the dials, and display case backs.
The movement inside each watch is an ETA 2824-2 Swiss automatic movement with a Glycine-decorated rotor, operating at 4Hz with a power reserve of about 38 hours. The exclamation-point-like hour markers and pips as well as the hands punctuate the package with glowing Super-LumiNova.
