It always an awesome time when high-performance supercars make their way into the spotlight. Gearheads like us love to see what manufacturers can bring to the table each time a new model comes up. The current object of our obsessions is the apparently the fifth-generation Longtail from a famed British sports car manufacturer That’s right we are obviously smitten with the McLaren 600LT Spider for all the right reasons. This gorgeous drop-top is a drool-worthy object of desire that fans of the marque will no doubt want to get their hands on.
According to the carmaker, it is an exciting follow-up to their track-ready yet road legal lineup of performance vehicles. This impressive convertible features a three-part hardtop that is reportedly operable at cruising speeds of up to 25 mph. It might seem like a minor gimmick, but it beats having to stop to stow away the roof. Therefore, you can smoothly have it retract and enjoy the open air.
Now let’s take a look at the nitty gritty that makes this beauty a formidable beast on the road and racetrack. We spy a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 that roars to life with 457 lb-ft of torque and 592 horsepower. Its seven-speed dual-clutch transmission transfers all that power from the engine to its wheels. Each one is equipped with a set of exclusive Pirelli P Zero Trofeo tires. Performance tests confirm a 0 to 60 sprint completion in less than three seconds. The McLaren 600LT Spider can be yours for $256,500 and its available in showrooms now.
