Automotive enthusiasts would argue that the stock configuration for most vehicles are already the best there is. Nevertheless, you should note that these are purists who enjoy their rides without the fuss. On the other hand, other gearheads would love to argue that aftermarket customization can elevate everything to another level. To prove that latter’s point we ask you to check out the Brabus 850 4×4² ‘One of Five’ Final Edition. This beefy souped-up luxury SUV is ready to take on the highway or even traverse off-road pathways for your enjoyment.
This noteworthy project starts off with a stock Mercedes-AMG G63, which is already a capable ride on its own. The name is definitely a mouthful but is probably appropriate given the number of tweaks it comes with. Starting with the engine, Brabus is swapping out the original twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that produces 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. In its place, they’re putting in a 6.0-liter V8 pushing the envelope up to 838 horsepower with 1,069 lb-ft of torque. With the new powerplant in place, the SUV goes from zero to 62 miles per hour in less than five seconds.
Tackling unforgiving terrain should be effortless with the 23.6-inch ground clearance given by the SUV’s custom portal axles. Furthermore, each of its 22-inch MB wheels is equipped with Pirelli Scorpion ATR tires. Other exterior upgrades include carbon fiber elements, front/rear skid plates, and carbon fender flares. The Brabus 850 4×4² ‘One of Five’ Final Edition is certainly not skimping on quality, elegance, and performance.
