What is Amazon Prime Day?
Just like the holidays, the birthday you’re dreading and the Super Bowl, Amazon Prime Day comes merely once a year. Similar to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Prime Day is a chance to save tons of money on a plethora of products — massive discounts and savings are the name of the game. There are so many deals that it’s tough for one person to sift through them all. Which is why we’re here, to let you know about the best sales we find all throughout Prime Day 2019, in real-time. So bookmark this page and get ready to save.
When is Prime Day?
For 2019, Amazon has decided to run Prime Day for a full 48 hours starting on Monday, July 15 at 12 a.m. PST (3 a.m. EST) and running through 11:59 PST (2:59 a.m. EST) on Tuesday, July 16.
Do you have to be an Amazon Prime member?
This may seem obvious, but to take advantage of all the incredible Prime Day deals you must be an Amazon Prime member. A full-year membership costs $119. If you only plan on shopping discounts for Prime Day, it’s probably not worth it — unless you’re a Taylor Swift fan and also want to watch her exclusive Prime Music concert on July 10 on Prime Video. But if you plan on utilizing the other Prime features (like year-round free two-day shipping, Prime Video, Prime Music and more), then it’s definitely worth signing up. If you’re a student you can even get a discount on a Prime membership: sign up for a six-month free trial plus 50 percent off of a yearly membership if you decide to buy.
Prime Day tips
Setting up price alerts is a huge help that can be fairly easily done. It will also help you sift through the mind-numbing amount of sales that Amazon churns out for Prime Day. Using a website like Camelcamelcamel is a free and simple to way import your Amazon wishlist and get notifications when your items go below the price alert you’ve set. Making price alerts is one of the best ways to plan in advance for Prime Day.
Keep in mind, there are also other deals to be had across the web during July 15 and 16. Target just recently announced its own Target Deal Day for the same dates that don’t require any membership. Other big box stores and retail websites like Best Buy, Walmart and more offer up sometimes better deals on the same day(s) as Prime Day as well.
Have a plan. It can be overwhelming seeing so many sales happening all at once. So having a wishlist for what you are actually in the market for can be a key to not realizing you’ve spent way over your budget at the end of the two days of Prime Day.
Trust us. We sift through products and deals all day long to deliver you the ones you can’t miss. And it’s our duty to make sure if it’s worthwhile, you’ll hear from us about it. Bookmark this page and keep checking back for updates and more information.
