In 2011, Gumpert, the German supercar manufacturer whose less than attractive cars are some of the most performance competent, unveiled a new concept at the Geneva Motor Show called the Tornante, designed in conjunction with Italian coachbuilder Touring Superleggera.

The Tornante concept, meant to be the successor to the Gumpert Apollo, never made it into production due to Gumperts limited resources and financial trouble and completely missed its proposed 2012 debut.

The new images surfacing are allegedly the patent drawings of the new production version of the Tornante. The concept version sported steel and carbon fiber monocoque chassis, 4.2-liter Audi twin-turbocharged V-8 engine that claims 700 hp, 663 pound-feet of torque and a 3,000-pound curb weight.

However, with Gumpert’s financial standing, it’s unknown if the Tornante will ever make it into production.
