Engineer Ignacio Fernandez and his Spanish automotive company, IFR Automotive, has finally unveiled the production version of the Aspid GT-21 Invictus. The hammerhead sports car delivers 450 horsepower to the rear wheels via a BMW-sourced 4.4-liter V8 engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox or six-speed manual. It has a top speed of 189 mph and can accelerate to 60 mph from a standstill in less than three seconds. And to top it off, the Aspid’s suspension can serve up 1.6 g on the skidpad. It weighs in at 2,182 pounds with a composite body and spaceframe chassis. The Invictus comes complete with on-road safety equipment, including adaptive airbags, stability control and anti-lock brakes.
The company is currently aiming to start building its newest production model in 2014. Pricing has yet to be announced.
