Nissan is bringing a third GT-R offering to its two-supercar stable in the form of the 2017 GT-R Track Edition. The newest Godzilla will slot between the Premium ($111,585) and Nismo ($176,585) models with a starting price of $129,585. Compared to the Nismo, the GT-R Track Edition is kind of a deal — at least in terms of cars that cost as much as a small house.

The extra $18K brings some Nismo parts and appearance bits to the Premium GT-R. Nismo tuned the suspension for some added handling capability. Nismo-spec tires wrap Nismo 20-inch forged aluminum-alloy wheels.

Performance is otherwise unchanged over the Premium model: The same twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 still makes 565 hp and 467 lb-ft of torque. A paddle-shifted six-speed dual-clutch transmission sends power to all four wheels.

Nismo front fenders and a special carbon-fiber rear spoiler enhance the GT-R Track Edition’s outward appearance. Inside, there is a unique red and black color treatment with Recaro seats.

The 2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition is scheduled to make its official debut at the New York auto show next month. The limited-production GT-R will be available late summer and only by special order.
